I Want

I Want

A Poem by Sandra K

I lay in the green grass
Looking up at the blue sky,
White clouds, gradually floating by,
I start to fall, into a dream
About you.

I fall into a dream.
A dream abut you and I,
A dream about our future
And the many fun, adventures
I want to do with you.

I want to take your hand,
Pull you along the green, grassy field,
Running, until we fall over laughing,
Without a cause

I want to lay next to you,
In our bed, from sunrise to sunset,
Cuddled in your arms, a blanket
Protecting us our body heat
Keeping us warm, and closer together.

I want to sit side by side,
On the sofa sharing,
A warm blanket and a bowl of popcorn,
And watch the television.

I want to take you, into my past
To San Francisco,
to show you my memories.
I want to walk the Golden Gate Bridge,
Hike along the cliffs, looking out
Into the endless sea

I want to take you,
Up and down Haight and Ashbury.
Go window shopping, try new foods,
And reliving, The Summer Of Love,
With you

I want to show you my childhood,
The school yards, the playgrounds,
The old friends, the old memories,
And create new ones while we are there.

Of course, we will have our moments,
Of disagreement, hate and anger,
We may lay in bed back to back, without
Saying a word
You know I still want you.
There will be trials, and hoops
That must be jumped before we proceed,
But I want to do them all,
With you

I lay here, in the green grass,
The beautiful blue sky,
And the cotton ball clouds,
Gives my high hopes, of our
Future together, and
Turns my dream into reality.

This a very nice, warm, honest poem. Very well written. P.S. If you find a decent mate tell him this stuff....it made me melt...phew!

I really liked this - it captured the innocence of love & the desire we have to find someone who understands us, and is capable of embracing our past and giving us a wonderful future! ^_^ Your description was lovely & the specific events you mentioned are relatable for everyone who longs for someone to share their life with! Great job!

Sigh, this makes my insides melt. What a wonderful dream you've painted here.

"cotton ball clouds" was my favorite image, really good job with this one, Sandra.

Have a nice day!

yes yes... :) what a great plea for the future.

"I want to lay next to you,
In our bed, from sunrise to sunset,
Cuddled in your arms,"

right there - my dreams. :) that's all i want, really. haha

i enjoyed this very much. i felt every line.

i liked the "i still want you" line - it was very powerful, and so true. our backs might be to each other, but we still love that person, and wish we could just turn around and embrace.

lovely

Such a beautiful passage, pure and reflective. That love is past, present, and future (an endless stream) is powerful and effective through your wonderful words! (I grew up near San Francisco and your poem helped me haunt Pier 39 again in my memory...)

Ditto. I could very well dream those dreams myself (and do) ... its the little things, the everyday things that really bind us together with the ones we love ... and its these little things we miss most when we are separated.

This poem portrays that very well. xxx

You have very nicely covered the high points of 'relationship'; sharing all of your life with someone interested in knowing all there is to know about you.

Wonderful hopes, dreams and plans, spiced with just enough realism.

Excellent work.

sandra, bravo! i read, and reread it. i felt my cheeks moisten a touch. not neccessarily because of its context, but because of beautiful, almost wistful message.
the poem conveys a very innocent, and warm, kind of emotion that i think aloy of readers could relate to.
