Death

Death

A Poem by Sandr

Isn’t there a moment when you realize that mortality is real?

Everything comes to an end.

When I was young I feared death, the cold, unmoving corpse that everyone eventually becomes.

What a foolish fear.

Death isn’t what people should fear, since people die long before their bodies do.

I died when I found out Santa wasn’t real.

I died when God didn’t answer my prayers.

I died when my parents forgot how to love.

I died when I realized that life is only waiting.

Everyone is waiting for death.

But death is a rebirth,

A rebirth into the harsh and cold truth of the world.

However, truth can be beautiful

In a way that saddens the lighthearted and enlightens the despairing.

Everyone is waiting for death.- excellent line

This poem flows with truth. Some are so dead that they are incapable of dying.
