A Spring Picnic

Come sit on my blanket, by the clear water stream,
feel the warm country breeze, just like in a dream,
Watch the weeping willows as they bow oh so near,
see the fish as they swim, in the water so clear.

Come walk in my pasture where the grass is so green,
Feel the warmth of the sun, like soft velveteen,
Watch the children as they run, with kites flying high,
see the rainbow of colours in the flowers nearby.

Come have a spring picnic, with those who are here,
Feel the icy cold taste, as you have your first beer,
Watch the birds as they busily build their nest in a tree,
See how happy I'll be, when you have a spring picnic with me.

I like this, it's soft, simple, and sweet. It's the type of literature that makes you just want to relax and sleep =] In a good way of course.

A picnic to remember, indeed! I could feel the scenery and peacefulness. I found this poem very pleasureable to read.
