Nature WalkA Poem by Sam & Gavin Khan-McIntyrePoem
Out of the four walled panopticon
Of city towns suburban sprawl Devil made isolation chambers Which they call houses, flats, room. Designed to keep us two apart That’s all we have is granite between us. Their flesh we can bend But grey we can bomb, but would we We are not the sort of terrorists they prefer. I must get into the cool breeze, Feel my nature with itself sublime Disappear into it breathe with it, With the smell of clouds and trees Of bluebells picked, yellow cornflowers deep Up to the shoulders we disappear into The grassy smell of the fresh mown With weeds and daisies shorn Of secret meadows showing dots of brightness Find a place bask and disappear into it Deep breaths mingling with wind as one Becoming a daisy, bluebell or cornflowers The birds are outside inside me chirping away Away on the walk forever, where we meet © 2022 Sam & Gavin Khan-McIntyre |
