The Hangman's SonA Poem by Sean Ethan TorresIf it was your job would you kill, would you do it I'd it was someone you loved? The drums of death beat malevolently The hangman stands high on the platform The raven flies above waiting for a meal The crowd awaits the condemned to show The courtyard comes alive with hate The criminal is escorted to the noose The young boy stares through the lasso The final beat of the drums draw near The hangman sets the noose around the neck The lever is pulled and the body drops The hangman sways in the place of the accused The hour ends with twelfth strike The ground bathed in blood as a head rolls The hangman and his son will now be together again The drums of death halt
