So it was

So it was

A Poem by MysteriesUnsolved

A thirst for blood, a sadistic smile
The scythe of death, a poison vial

A heart carved from obsidian
A blade to let the wounds deepen

May the pain grow, fading ever so slowly
May it feed the rage, the darkness growing fiery

Every little injury that you inflict upon me
Adds a bit more to my misery

But I will make you gasp for air
Your screams, they'll blind my regret

I will break free of these chains holding me down
I will get away, and suck your soul out

I'll break it and twist it in numerous ways
You'll feel the pain that I did today

Your shadow, it blinded my light
Left me in a place so vile

To fear, to weep, to tear apart
With no one there, you left me completely lost

Smiled at my screams, smirked at my tears
You left me broken, to fend off my fears

Conflicting emotions, is insanity near?
The thoughts swirling in a haphazard manner

A pool of despair, screams ripping out
People may stare at me, but they can't hear me out

In the mirror I see the inflicter of my pains
Yes, it was me and no one else

Wow. Heavy hitting with a slab of beef consumed by a hungry soul. I like the way you drive your ideas because they hit hard, giving depth, meaning, food for the soul.

I too like the metaphors used in your reviews.
