Chapter 11A Chapter by SunnyChapter
11 Kay’s POV Yesterday
the boys had a quick talk before Summer, Alana and Jake had to leave to drop he
had to drop the girls off. When they left the boys were talking about how cute
they were and that he seemed like a great guy. I pulled my phone out and started
looking through the photos we had taken at dinner a few days ago and soon
everyone was huddled around the phone. There was the one of Jowell and Niall having
their eating comp messily and looking at each other and there were heaps of
funny faces pulled by everyone. I
was quickly scrolling through the images when Jowell said to go back to a previous
one. I scrolled back and we all examined the image to see what she was on about. “Wait isn’t that Jake.” Liam said stating the
obvious whilst pointing to him sitting a few tables behind us in the very back. “With
another girl?” Niall looked puzzled as did the rest of us. “Thank
you Captain Obvious’ but who is she?”
Jowell asked me. “Why
are you asking me, not like I know every girl around here. I’ve never seen her
in my life.” “Uh
don’t you think we should tell her about this? I mean he is her boyfriend and
he is with another girl,” Harry said putting in his own input. “Tomorrow
Jowell and I will tell her and show her.” Summer’s POV After
Jake dropped us home I asked where we were going for that lunch we had planned
a few weeks ago and he said that he couldn’t make it because his mums sister,
Aunty Louise, and her family were over
and he had to spend time with them. Kay
texted me when we reached saying she needed to talk to me ‘urgently’ tomorrow.
Why urgently I don’t understand. The Next Day Kay’s POV I
had to show her the picture I couldn’t let something like this happen without
her knowing. I printed out the picture to make it clearer than it was on the
phone. I made sure the boys came later and that Jowell was here with me to make
it easier and plus she always seemed to cheer anyone up and make them smile in
the most hopeless times and I’ve only known her for a little more than a week. As
soon as she stepped in I asked her if things were alright between her and Jake,
she said things were normal. “Last
night we were looking at the photos from dinner and we found this,” I placed
the picture in her lap and stared at her face. No change, nothing. “How
come you’re not mad or anything, that’s Jake with another girl you do realise,”
Jowell said confused. This was not what we thought would happen. “He
said he had an Aunt Louise and her family over and that he has to spend time
with them that’s why he cancelled lunch,” she replied back looking at us both,
“Is that why you called me here saying it was urgent.” “Well
yeah we thought wrong then.” “Since
we’re here why don’t we have a girl’s shopping day?” she suggested looking at
both of us while we nodded in agreement. “Why
not? I’ll tell the boys not to come then.” And
within a few moments we were out the door all ready for a day out. Once we got
to the mall we walked into every shop looking at clothes and picking some out
for the other to try no matter how expensive they were because we weren’t
planning on buying any. Summer and I made Jowell try on a dress; even though we
knew she hated wearing dresses, it looked amazing on her though. It was a white
strapless dress that sat just above the knee with blue flowers scattered neatly
all over the dress. When she stepped out she was complaining about how she
hated wearing dresses and she hated us for making her wear one. She clearly
hadn’t looked in the mirror because she had no idea how gorgeous she looked. Our
jaws dropped when she had stepped out. Both of us caught her off guard and
snapped a picture of her and forced her to look in the mirror. She still didn’t
see how amazing she looked. Walking
out of the shop Summer bumped into a lady which coincidently happened to be
Jakes mum. The two chatted for a little like they were best friends, I knew
that Summer and Jakes mum were close but I didn’t realise how close they were.
Suddenly Summer asked her about Jakes aunt Louise. “How’s
Louise?” She asked her. “Who’s
Louise? I don’t know any Louise’s” “Uhh
never mind I got something mixed up.” “Well
I have to go grocery shopping now I’ll see you later sometime.” “Sure,
bye,” Summer said snapping out of her thoughts. She
didn’t say a word after that and we both knew why. There was no Aunt Louise. Summer’s POV “How’s
Louise?” She asked her. “Who’s
Louise? I don’t know any Louise’s” weird Jake said he had an aunt Louise over,
his mums sister. “Uhh
never mind I got something mixed up.” I tried covering it up I probably sounded
like a fool just then. “Well
I have to go grocery shopping now I’ll see you later sometime.” “Sure,
bye,” I snapped out of my thoughts and returned a smile before we headed off in
the other direction to her. “I think we should go home now we’ve done a
lot of shopping and looking around today.” Kay announced while steering us
towards the car. We had bought about two bags each of stuff and we had bought a
few bags of chocolates to keep in store at home. I
decided to text Jake then. Hey u at home? He
didn’t reply usually he replied when he first got it, maybe he’s busy or his
phone is off. We
got home and Kay asked me if I was alright. “I
don’t know, he lied to me, why?” “Have
you talked to him?” “No
I’ve been with you the whole time.” “Call
him,” Jowell said, “Now.” “He
hasn’t replied to my texts.” “Now,”
she repeated with a serious look on her face. “Okay,”
I sighed and dialled his number. Kay
asked if I wanted to talk to him alone or if she wanted them there, I said I
wanted them there. It
rang once, twice, third time. I let it ring a little more before ending the
call. “See
he’s not picking up or replying he’s probably busy.” Kay’s POV The
boys were out getting lunch and Liam sent me a text. I think Summer needs to see
this come to the deli now “Car
now I’ll explain later,” I shouted aloud. They hurried to the car and I started
driving. “Liam
said you need to see something at the deli Summer so that’s where we’re going.” Summer’s POV We
reached the deli and my stomach sunk as I saw the same girl from the picture
with Jake standing very close together. I saw the boys seated in the restaurant
next door looking at us unsure. I
took in a few deep breaths and gathered all my courage up and walked up to Jake
and this girl. “Hey
Jake?” “Uh
Summer what are you doing here?” “I
could ask the same to the both of you. Who’s she?” “Uhh
my cousin don’t you remember how I told you last night?” “Oh
yeah the one you made up? Yeah I remember,” I said looking up at his face. He
was trying to cover up his lie that he didn’t know I found out about this
morning you could tell by his face he was getting nervous he bit the inside of
his cheek and tried to ‘explain’. “What
are you talking about I never made that up why would I lie to you?” “Hi
you look confused what’s your name?” I asked the girl he was with. “Helena.” “Helena
do you know someone called Louise by any chance?” aha surely I’ve caught him
now. “Yes
my mum is Louise.” Crap, smarter than I thought he was with this. “Related
to Marianne?” I asked her. “Yes
they’re sisters,” she looked up at Jake and for a second I could see she felt
uncomfortable until she covered it with a confident look. “Oh
really, I didn’t know your mum had a sister I thought she was an only child
Jake?” I asked him pretending like I didn’t know and playing along with his
game. “She
does she must not have told you.” “You
can stop lying Jake. I know she has no sister I was talking to her this morning
at the shops. In fact she doesn’t know any Louise’s so you can give up the act.
Didn’t think of that did you?” “I
can explain Summer,” he shouted as I turned to walk away. “Really
I just really want to hear it how about we grab some coffee and you can
explain?” I said back in a sarcastic tone. He
looked confused by how easily I was saying all this. The truth was, I wasn’t
but I wasn’t one to let it show whilst he’s there. If he hurt me bad like he
has then I can get my revenge. “Actually
don’t bother about it.” “I’m
sorry, you weren’t meant to figure it out,” he said looking back at me. I
walked forward close to him and looked him in the eyes. “So
I wasn’t meant to figure this out? I was meant to just sit back and relax
whilst you’re with some other girl? Sure like that was going to happen. I
should’ve realised that you wouldn’t change from your old self just for me.
Forget it I’m done with you and your lies.” “Don’t
go please. Summer I love you. Please?” a tear escaped his eyes and rolled down
his cheek. “Doesn’t
seem like it. Either way I don’t. Bye,” and with that I left him there. I let
out short laugh as Helena walked away as well in the other direction that I
did. “How
you feeling?” Kay asked when I reached their table. Everyone was sitting there
and everyone in the shop was watching me. They must have been watching us the
whole time and I didn’t notice. “Can
you drop me home?” “Yeah
come on.” Everyone
stood up and I instructed them to sit and that I was fine. I wasn’t I knew it
but I had to make them believe me. Once
we got home I ran to my bed and screamed into my pillow as loud as I could so
that it wouldn’t come out as loud. Tears ran down my face one after the other
after the other. “How
did I let this happen I believed him? Who knows how many other lies he’s said
that I believed.” I
muttered to myself, “How blind can you get Summer? You let him by believing
him.” I
cried more and more, Kay came in and sat on my bed opposite me with a tub of
ice cream with two spoons and a packet of cranberries. “Come
here. Shh it’s alright it’s not the end of the world things like this are going
to happen Summer and we’ll just have to accept it. It wasn’t meant to be so, so
what you’ll move on. Then one day you’ll find the right person. Trust me.” She
said softly as she gave me one of her hugs. I
tried responding to her but I couldn’t all that came out was another round of
tears and more crying. “I
know how you feel, he was a jerk to do that to you.” “But
I feel bad for doing what I did.” “Bad?
You feel bad? What you did was nothing compared to what he did to you. You were
amazing this afternoon; everyone in the shop was looking at you stunned by your
courage to actually face him like that. Other girls would just go off and try forgetting
about it but you faced him. A couple behind us where saying ‘good on her for
doing that’ everyone was in awe.” “Really?”
I could barely speak my throat hurt from the crying and my heart ached from the
heartbreak, “I hardly noticed.” “You’re
a brave and strong girl Summer. You’ll get through this.” And with that she
took a heap of ice cream and shoved it in her mouth and I followed. I
loved Jake so much that I can’t describe. He was always there for me when I
needed help and I was there for him when he needed me. I should’ve noticed this
when he wasn’t replying and he barely had any time to meet up with me. I
told Kay all of this as calmly as I could and when I finished I ended up bawling
my eyes out. After around half an hour
of Kay trying to calm me down whilst trying to stay calm herself I had calmed
and was beginning to get over it. But Jake trying calling I let it ring not
bothering with him, he left a voice mail. I gave the phone to Kay to listen to
it instead. She
left the room and as soon as she closed the door the tears came pouring out
again. She came back a few moments later. “He
said he was sorry and he regrets it more than you think and that he wants you
back. Quote ‘I love you Summer I hate myself for doing that and I want you to
know that I love you and I know you probably hate me for that but I still love
you and no other girl.’ He was crying whilst he was saying this as well which
was what surprised me.” Why
would he be crying he’s the one who cheated on me with Helena. “He
can cry as much as he wants but I’m not going to forgive him for that. He doesn’t
realise how much damage he has done to my heart. It can only take so much
before it breaks all it needs is one more tap before it splits open. He doesn’t
realise that he has left the biggest crack.” I said this through sobs and tried
pulling myself together. “Shh.
Try going to sleep in the morning we can go out and try forget about him Ok. I’m
going home now call me if you need anything and what do you want me to tell the
boys and Jowell they were worried about you.” “Tell
them that I’m, um, fine and we can meet up at there’s tomorrow or do whatever
they want.” Kay left quietly, I plugged
my IPod in and played soft music and cried myself to sleep. © 2012 SunnyAuthor's Note
