RealizationA Chapter by AshimotoThis is a short story chapter(a filler). Bryer's POV. Ellie and her crew become more popular in the book. Mostly Ellie though and you'll find out why. :)
Bryer's POV
I woke up and felt a tremendous wave of utter despair. Something wasn't right. I wonder if Destiny felt the wave as well. I opened my door barely and saw Kyle go up to Destiny's door and tap lightly on it. "Destiny, Darling, I'm sorry about last night." Kyle apologized in a sad voice, "I was being stupid. Please forgive me." "What did you do now?" I came out of my room. "Well..." Kyle sighed, "I assumed something and it pissed her off." "Women." I scoffed, "Don't worry man. She's a big softy for the Puppy Eyes." Kyle sighed again before giving Destiny's door another gentle knock. "Dude, she's also a heavy sleeper." I laughed, "You'll never wake her up that way. Let me try." I breathed deeply before banging on the door and yelling, "DESTINY! GET YOUR FAT A*S OUT OF BED! YOUR BOYFRIEND WANTS A PIECE OF A*S, SO GET OUT HERE!" "What?!" Kyle gaped, "Since when did I want--" "Don't worry." I said, "She'll know it's a lie and come out and give me a punch or two. No big deal." I was surprised that she didn't come out to scream at me. I banged on the door again but to no avail. "What is going on here?" Kasi and Brandon came up to us. "Destiny isn't coming out." Kyle sighed. I opened the door, shocked that it was open, and walked in. The first thing I saw was a letter on her desk. I walked up to it and picked it up. it was addressed to Kyle. "Here, bro." I handed it to him, "It's addressed to you." "To me?" Kyle opened it up and read it. Minutes later, his eyes widened and he fainted. "What's it say?" Kasi asked. I picked it up and read it aloud, "Dear Kyle, I am leaving this place to go search for Ashleigh and to go defeat the losers in the Maverick Clan. Don't come after me. Sincerely, Destiny." It took us a moment to process what we just heard before dropping our mouths and yelling, "What?!" Seriously, Destiny could be an idiot. And I knew that she said 'Don't follow me.' means that she REALLY wanted us to follow her. She's such an attention w***e. "She can't be serious." Kasi said. Brandon just stood there like he was hiding something. I was going to ask but there was a loud knock on the door. "Can you answer the door?" Kasi asked me as she was trying to get Kyle off of the floor. "Yes, my sweet." I said sweetly. I ran down the stairs and swiftly opened the door. There, standing at the door, was Ellie and her crew. Dayana and Tanya were holding each others hands, Amaris was hanging off Alex, and Ellie was in front holding a metal detector. I gave Ellie a questioned look at her outfit of red cowboy boots, a red cowboy hat that matched her hair, blue jean short-shorts with a purple belt around it that had a large and round belt buckle that had 'El' on it, and a black tee shirt with 'Sonata Arctica' on it. "I told you that this was their house." Ellie said. Tanya and Alex sighed as they gave Ellie $20 each. "Score." Ellie silently cheered. "What the Hell do you guys want?" I asked. "We wanted to come see Ashleigh since she is sick." Ellie stated. "Sick?" I asked, "She's not sick." "Huh?" the crew cocked their heads to the side, only Amaris made it look cute, "She's not? But Kyle told us that she was sick." I decided to change the subject, "What's with the metal detector?" "Oh." Ellie held it up, "This is how I found you guys. It is a D****e-bag detector. All I had to do is measure the level of your 'Douchebaggery', but oh course the level of YOUR 'Douchebaggery' was so high that it broke the detector." "You are such a b***h." I glared. "And you are an a*****e." Ellie's eye twitched menacingly, "If you weren't my beloved Ashleigh's brother I would of kicked your a*s by now." "I dare you." "Well what Ashleigh doesn't know won't hurt her." Ellie kicked my shin and I cried out. She had an awfully powerful kick, and it was just like Ashleigh's. "What's going on here?" my sweet, Kasi, descended the stairs. "Sweetheart!" I cried, "She kicked my shin!" Kasi got a worried look on her face as she rushed over to me, "Are you alright? Do you need first aid?" "Yes, ma'am." I cooed. Ellie walked up to Kasi and examined her. Poking her face, feeling her breasts, pinching her butt. It was weird, but then again it was Ellie. "Is this your new s**t?!" Ellie exclaimed. "Don't call her that!" I growled at her. Kasi stepped in before our fight got really nasty, "Calm yourself, Bryer. If you get mad over every little fight you have, you won't have the pleasure of getting along." "But she just called you a s**t!" I said. "It's alright." Kasi smiled, "She doesn't know me that well and I don't know her. Eventually, we might be good friends. If I get mad over something as trivial as that, then how can I get the opportunity to be friends with her?" "Hey, Bryer. You actually got a smart girl for once." Ellie smirked and extended her hand to Kasi, "The name's Ellie." "Hello, Ellie." Kasi shook her hand, "My name is Kasi." "So, Kasi-San, do you know where Ash-Chan is?" Ellie asked politely for once. "Well..." Kasi said nervously, "Maybe I should get Brandon and Kyle." Kasi turned around and yelled, "BRANDON! KYLE! GET YER ASSES DOWN HERE NOW!" When no one answered Kasi smiled sweetly at us and said, "Be right back." then she stomped up stairs. There were a few crashes and finally Kasi emerged with Kyle in her hands. She threw him downstairs where he landed right in front of us, groaning in pain. Brandon glared at Kasi. Kasi pointed downstairs and Brandon obediently followed her path. "Sorry about that." Kasi smiled. "I like her." Ellie laughed, "You got yourself a winner there, Bryer." "Oh, we aren't dating." Kasi said. "Eh?" Ellie looked to me, "You guys aren't dating?" "No." I huffed. Ellie was seriously going to make fun of me for not getting the girl I wanted. To my surprise, she let out a sigh of relief that I questioned, "What's with the sigh of relief?" "W-what?" Ellie stuttered, "I didn't sigh in relief!" Ellie rarely stuttered so that made me worry, only a little though. I put my hand on her forehead and asked, "Are you alright, kid?" Ellie blushed furiously and bit my hand hard. "Ouch!" I took my hand back, "You b***h! Is that the treatment I get for worrying about you?!" "Dayana!" Ellie shrieked, "Water! Now!" Dayana took out her big backpack and got a purple Hello Kitty thermos from it, "Here, Ellie-Chan." Ellie uncapped the thermos, poured water into the teacup-shaped cap, drank the water, gargled, and swallowed, "Thanks, Day-Tan." Dayana put the thermos back into her pack and put it back on. "Who knows what you did with your hand before I bit it." Ellie said. "Oh, you know what I did." I smirked, watching her face turn a green color. "Dayana!" "Hai!" After Ellie drank more water, she finally calmed down and decided to tease me. "You didn't get the girl. You didn't get the girl." she chanted. Her crew started to chant with her. My eye twitched as I finally burst, "I can get any girl I want!" "Nope. You can't." Ellie smirked. "Name one girl I can't get, besides Kasi." I dared. "Me." "Why would I want you? You are a brat and you're ugly." I prepared myself to get slapped, but I felt no blow. I looked to see tears running down her face. "Ellie?" I asked. "You... you, jerk!" Ellie ran out the door. "What the hell, man!" Alex yelled. "Yeah! What the hell..." Dayana began. "...is your problem, a*****e?!" Tanya finished. Amaris had a distressed and cute look at the same time. "What did I say?" I asked. "Oh my." Kasi had a finger on her lips, as if she was thinking, "I see what is going on here." "What?" I asked, "Tell me because I'm confused." "How long have you and Ellie known each other?" Kasi asked. "Since her and Ashleigh were ten. So about six years." I said, "Ellie has always been a brat." Flashback(six years ago) "Bryer!" Ashleigh, who was ten at the time, came through the door of our house, "I brought a friend over!" "Is she hot?" I, who was eleven at the time, jumped off the couch to see. "You can't hit on my friend!" Ashleigh yelled, "Her name is Ellie." I came around the corner to see ten year old Ellie with her bright scarlet hair in ponytails tied with purple ribbons, red rain boots, purple shorts, and a frilly purple shirt. She looked so innocent then. I wonder what happened. "Hey there, cutie." I flirted. "You look funny." is what the ten year old Ellie first said to me. Ashleigh fell on the floor laughing. I, on the other hand, was a little angry, but I let it slide since she was so cute. "Why don't we hang in my room?" I put on my best smile. Suddenly, I was kicked in the face. At first, I thought Ellie had been the one that kicked me, but it was Ashleigh who did it. "Stay away from her!" Ashleigh growled, "Come on, El. We should get away from this 'Horndog'." I was determined to get with my little sister's cute friend. There was no way she could resist a hunk like me. I opened Ash's door and walked inside, seeing Ellie and Ashleigh talking on Ashleigh's bed. "Get out of here, Bryer!" Ashleigh squealed. "It's okay, Ash-Chan." Ellie said, "I mean, my little brother always come into my room to get hugs from me." "Can I have a hug?" I asked innocently. Ashleigh gave me another violent kick in the face. This time, I started to fake cry, seeking to get sympathy from the lovely Ellie. "Aw." Ellie smiled, "He is doing what my little brother does when I don't give him hugs." "Don't fall for it, El-Tan!" Ashleigh yelled, "He is just trying to get in your pants!" "I am not!" I stated, "Besides, she is clearly wearing shorts." "GET. OUT." Ashleigh gave me a murderous look that made me run for my life. Ashleigh was making sure that I didn't go near Ellie, but of course I had a plan. I drew near mother's favorite vase that Ashleigh was also standing by. She didn't see me and neither did Ellie. I gently tapped the vase over which broke on the floor near Ashleigh. I ran off and hid behind the corner as mom came in to see what broke. "My vase!" mom shrieked, "What did you do, Ashleigh?!" "I must have bumped it on accident!" Ashleigh pleaded, "I'm sorry!" The last I saw of Ashleigh was her getting dragged by the ear out of the room. I slid up next to Ellie and asked, "Has Ash shown you the house yet?" "Nope." Ellie said, "I've only seen her room." "Then shall I give you the tour, cutie?" I grabbed her hand. "Sure, I guess." Ellie shrugged. "Come on. Let me show you my room." I dragged Ellie into my room where the first thing she saw was the poster over my bed of Sonata Arctica. "Sonata Arctica, eh?" Ellie questioned. Oh no. She's going to think I'm a freak. "I... LOVE THEM!!!" Ellie squealed happily. "R-really?" I asked, relieved that she liked them. Ellie took off her boots to get on my bed. "They are my favorite band!" Ellie beamed brightly, "Especially Henrik Klingenberg, the keyboardist!" "Yeah, he's really cool." I agreed. Suddenly, Ellie slipped and fell from the bed. I jumped to catch her, ending in us both on the ground and in pain. "I'm sorry I couldn't catch you." I apologized. "It's okay." Ellie got up and brushed off invisible lint from her clothes. I decided to use this situation. I got up quickly and gave her a kiss on the lips. It was my very first kiss, even though I'm such a player. Her lips were soft and gentle. When I pulled away, her face was beet red. I thought it was so cute so I decided to lean in for another one. What I didn't expect to get was a strong punch to the face that sent me practically flying across the room. "You-you pervert!" Ellie screamed, "ASHLEIGH!" Ashleigh ran in at the time and saw me on the floor with a huge mark on my face, "What the Hell did you do to her, Bryer?!" "All I did was kiss her." I pouted. "WHAT?!" Ashleigh got a pillow and began to beat me with it. End of Flashback "And that's pretty much why me and Ellie hate each other." I concluded. "It doesn't seem all that much like hate to me." Kasi said. "Then what is it?" I asked. Everyone seemed to lean in to hear Kasi's statement. "It seems to me like you two are... in love." The whole room went silent. I broke the silence by laughing my a*s off. How could Ellie and I like each other? Oddly, I was the only one laughing. "Why isn't anyone else laughing?" I asked. "Well it could be a strong possibility..." Dayana began. "...that she really likes you and just..." Tanya continued. "...doesn't want to admit it because..." Dayana trailed on. "...she's too proud to say anything." Tanya finished. Wow. I will never get how they can continue and finish each others sentences like that. "It's a twin thing." Dayana and Tanya said at the same time. Amaris clapped happily and made another cute face, obviously happy by the twins' ability to say things at the same time. "Ellie IS too proud." Alex said, "You should run after her and get the truth. She doesn't run very fast so you should be able to catch her." "Go after her, or you'll be too late!" Kasi encouraged me. "Go right now!" the twins yelled at me. I sighed and did what they told me. I ran out side and looked right to left and decided on the left because everyone was pointing to the left side. Alex was right, it didn't take me long to find her. She was walking along the side of the mountain, kicking rocks with her boots. "Ellie!" I called after her. She turned behind and gasped, then she started running. "Get back here!" I yelled as I ran after her. "Go away!" She yelled back at me. "Not a chance! You're not getting away from me!" I sprinted at a breakneck speed. Ellie tried to speed up, but she tripped in the process. I, who couldn't stop in time, tripped over HER and fell a few feet in front of her. "What do you want?!" she asked, obviously annoyed with me. I didn't say anything. If this was 'love' as Kasi said it was then a kiss would prove it. There was no guarantee that Ellie would let me kiss her. It was either I got a kiss or I got killed by one of her killer punches. "What are you doing?" Ellie said as I grabbed her by the shoulders and gave her a kiss. Her lips felt the same as they had when I first kissed her. Soft and gentle. "W-what?" Ellie pulled away and asked. "Do you like me?" I asked with no hesitation at all. Her face was redder than her hair, and that was pretty red. "Well... I..." "Do you like me or not?!" "Y-yes, I do..." "..." I was speechless. Kasi was right. Ellie did like me. "I-I like you too." I said. Ellie's face lit up brightly, "R-really?!" It made my heart skip a beat, "Y-yeah." Ellie smiled at me, and with me smiling back I knew we were going to have one hell of a relationship. © 2010 AshimotoAuthor's Note
