The Harper Mansion

The Harper Mansion

A Chapter by Ashimoto
"

The Harper family is a lone vampire family that refuses to go into a clan. Ashleigh and her siblings are about to meet this family. How fun.

"
"We have been traveling for over three hours! Let's take a break!" Destiny did her usual whining. And since she had been doing that for two hours straight, it was frankly getting annoying.
"Come on, you guys! Let's take a break, please!" Destiny continued.
   Three...
   "My feet are hurting!"
   Two...
"I'm bored of walking! I wanna sit down!"
   One...
   "Ashleigh!!!"
I grabbed Destiny's arm and I flipped her entire body over my shoulder. Destiny cried out in pain when she hit the ground. I pulled her up by her ear and in it I yelled, "No one wants to hear your whining and bullshit so shut the f**k up!" And with that said, I continued down the road.
"What the hell is her problem?!" Destiny squealed as Bryer tried to help her up.
"You pissed her off... again." Bryer stated.
"Well I was tired." Destiny pouted.
"Next time, just suck it up because Ashleigh could really care less." Bryer advised.
Destiny sighed when she realized that Bryer was right. So she got up and, without any complaints, walked after me.
I loved the peace and quiet and I expected dead silence from my brother and cousin. And did I get it? Hell yeah I did. I was so happy about it that I smiled the rest of the way to town.
We settled into a diner, and we sat in a booth like last time. I looked out the window and saw Punk glaring at me and motioning for me to join him outside.
I smiled. I always was looking for a good fight, and I just happened to have heard that vampires are good at fighting.
"Be right back guys." I told my family as I walked outside.
As I walked over to Punk, I said, "You looking for a fight, Punk?"
"No, actually." Punk smiled, "I wanted to have a private talk with you."
"Boring!" I yawned. I wanted a fight, not a talk.
"I want you to be my soul mate." Punk got to the point.
"Huh?" I didn't expect THAT! Maybe I need to cut down on the milkshakes because they must be messing with my brain.
"I want to turn you into a vampire and make you my soul mate." Punk said, "You would be quite the vampire."
"Na, I think I'll pass." I said coolly, "If I had to become soul mates with a vampire, you wouldn't be my first choice."
I could of sworn I heard giggling and snickering, but when I looked around I saw no one but Punk and I.
"Well what do you not like on guys?" Punk asked.
Oh I was f*****g picky about my guys, and if he really wants to spend an hour or so listening to me rant on how much I hate about guys then he is welcome. However, I didn't have time to spend here so I decided to just say the main points.
"I hate s****y a*s attitudes. Long a*s hair. And shorties." I listed, realizing that he was all three.
Punk just stood there as if he had been insulted, which is pretty much true. He growled at me and said, "If you won't be my soul mate then I might as well kill you." He was about to take a step towards me but he was stopped.
"Now, now, Punk. There is no need to harm a lady." said a guy in purple pants. He looked like one of the new kids at my school.
"Besides, she's with us." said the chick in the pink dress, whom I've decided to call 'Pinky' until I found out her real name.
   Th
en I heard a motorcycle come up from behind me. I looked and I saw probably the hottest guy I have ever seen in my lifetime. Mr. Biker got off his bike and walked over to Pinky and Purple Pants.
"You're late, Brandon!" Pinky yelled at Mr. Biker, or Brandon.
"He's always late so calm down, woman." Purple Pants sighed.
"Don't tell me to calm down, Kyle." Pinky growled.
"Alright, calm down, please." Purple Pants, or Kyle, put up his hands in defense.
"Just take care of Punk, will ya?" Brandon asked Pinky.
"Sure thing!" Pinky marched over to Punk, snapped his neck and threw him off a cliff.
"Ashleigh!" Bryer and Destiny ran out to me. Great, it's an intervention.
Pinky walked up to me and shook my hand, "I'm Kasi! Nice to meet you, Ashleigh."
"Kasi?" I said, because it sounded so familiar.
"You're the girl that Serenity was talking about!" Bryer yelled.
So that's why she sounded so familiar. Serenity mentioned her name.
"Serenity talked about me?" Kasi asked, "Then she must trust you. We are the lone vampire family; the Harper's. And we are also new to your school."
Destiny tugged my arm and pointed to Kyle, who winked at her. She melted into a pool at my feet. Pathetic.
"We heard that you don't have anywhere to stay." Kasi said, "Would you like to stay with us?"
"Na. We can manage on our own." I said.
"Besides, we shouldn't have filthy humans staying at our house." Brandon scolded Kasi.
"Excuse me?" I turned around, "I better have not heard what I thought I heard."
"All I said was 'filthy humans should not stay with us'." Brandon repeated.
"What's so filthy about us?" I asked angrily, "The only thing filthy here is your attitude, a*****e."
"What about your attitude?!" Brandon yelled.
I balled up my fist and punched him in the face, and he stumbled backwards. Vampires have steel bodies practically, so to have them stumble back must of meant that I was f*****g strong as hell. It also hurt my hand like a mother******, but I didn't show any emotion on my face to reveal it.
Brandon and his family looked stunned. Brandon didn't stay stunned for long. He growled and came after me. I had to look up at him because he was so tall. Our eyes burned into each others. You could practically see the fire burning in our eyes, it was pretty intense.
"Brandon, quit being an a*s." Kasi said, she grabbed his ear and pulled him back, "They are staying with us, whether you like it or not."
"What?!" Brandon and I both shouted.
"Now let's get to the house before Punk wakes up." Kasi smiled. She whistled and a pink motorcycle rode up. She got on it and motioned for one of us to get on.
"I call Kasi!" Bryer ran over to the motorcycle, put his bag on the back and got on the motorcycle.
"I call Kyle!" Destiny squealed, and did the same as Bryer.
"That means I get..." I turned to Brandon who sighed deeply.
   "Get on." Brandon said.
"Not on my life." I said stubbornly.
Brandon growled and pulled me on and drove off. I was forced to hold on or fall off and possibly die.
The drive wasn't so bad. We didn't talk to each other, so that avoided any yelling.
I was getting tired so I laid my head on Brandon's back, hopefully he wouldn't think I was going soft.

It was hours later when I felt someone tugging at my hand.
"What the hell!" I yelled, because I hated being touched when I was sleeping.
"Get your a*s off my motorcycle, and let go off me." Brandon yelled.
I realized I must have had a death grip when I slept because Brandon couldn't even pull me off. I yawned and got off his motorcycle. I stretched my arms out and yawned again.
"Here we are!!" Kasi shouted excitedly.
I looked to up to see a freaking castle. It was one of my favorite colors too. Blood Red. I was already feeling better.
"Let's go in!" Kasi grabbed all three of us and dragged us inside, leaving Kyle and Brandon to put up the motorcycles in the three garages.
The inside was amazing. The ceiling had the Sistine Chapel's on it, with a large chandelier hanging down. We first entered a large room with a door on each side and a large staircase leading to the second floor. The left door was the library, which had thousands of volumes in it and many couches. The right door was the kitchen and dinning room.
"I'll show you guys your rooms!" Kasi began ascending the staircase.
We followed her down the right hall and found three doors. One on the left, one on the right, and one at the end hall.
"I call the one at the end of the hall!" Destiny yelled.
"Too late, I already called it." I said with no emotion on my face.
   "Aw! When?" Destiny asked.
   "Right before you."
   "I didn't hear you."
"That's because I did it in my mind. Moron."
   "Not fair!"
I gave Destiny one of my infamous glares. That made her back off immediately. I smirked, victoriously, and walked into my room. The room was freaking huge! It was bigger than three of my old houses combined! On the wall that I was facing when I walked in(which was all made of glass), there was a glass door leading out to a round balcony. The bed was in the corner opposite that the door was on, and a little further down was a walk in closet. The bed had blood red sheets and pillows and it was a king size! The other wall had a bunch of box shelves with plants on them. And the ceiling had a screen on it that movies could be played on. Good job, Ashleigh. You picked a good room. I put my stuff in the closet and took off my shoes. I made sure no one was looking through my open door. The coast was clear. I ran and jumped onto my bed. The bed was so fluffy and nice that I kept jumping. It was the most fun I had in years. I was yelling things like "Woo hoo!" and "Yay!". All the commotion I was making made Bryer and Destiny rush into my room and stare in awe at me.
"I've never seen her have so much fun before." Destiny said.
"I have." Bryer said, "When she was about three."
"Wow. That's a long time ago." Destiny gaped.
"Thirteen years." Bryer heaved a sigh.
I was having such a good time that I didn't notice them until I fell on the bed, tired of all the jumping.
I looked at their open mouths and said, "What the hell? Get out."
They ran out as fast as they could, saying, "I wish we could of caught that on tape."
I yelled back, "If you did, I'd kill you!"
I heard Destiny gulp and say, "So scary..."
Laughing, I got up to go stand out on the balcony. It was so beautiful, the view was magnificent. The wind blew through my hair and I was at peace. Suddenly, I saw a flash in the corner of my eye. I looked to see Kasi holding a digital camera.
"You looked so artistic. You were also smiling, so I took a picture." Kasi smiled as she walked off of the balcony.
I growled, "I hate pictures of me. Give me the camera now!"
Kasi smirked, "Come and get it." she raced off at lightning speed.
I chased after her. I ran down the hall and I was about to run down the stairs but I stumbled and was about the fall down the stairs, but before I fell, I felt someone grab me and we tumbled down the stairs together.
I landed on top of the person who saved me. While I thought it was Kasi that saved me, I said, "Thanks for saving me."
"If you weren't such a klutz, I wouldn't have to save you, now would I?" said a male voice.
I realized that it wasn't Kasi that had saved me, but it was Brandon who had. I sat up, my face red from embarrassment.
"Are you going to get off me or are we just going to sit here all day?" Brandon asked, impatiently.
I scrambled off of him and I fixed my rumpled skirt.
"Your welcome." Brandon mumbled a response to my thanks.
If he didn't have the attitude, we could actually get along. I tuned around and screamed. Kasi had enlarged the photo she took of me and hung it high on the wall. To high for me to reach because I was very short.
"Please take it off." I asked nicely... for a change.
"But it makes the wall look so much better." Kasi smiled.
That really made my ego bigger. "A picture of me DOES make the wall look better." I smirked.
"Actually, the wall looked better without it." Brandon said from behind me.
"What would you know?!" I turned and yelled at him.
"You sure yell a lot." Brandon growled.
"I'm only yelling because you're yelling!"
   "I'm not yelling!"
   "You are now!"
I could tell that Kasi was getting agitated because she grabbed both of our heads and slammed them together. There was a deafening crack that was so loud, that Kyle, Bryer and Destiny came running down to see what happened.
They saw me and Brandon both on the floor, holding our heads in pain.
"Dang. Both of your heads can be used as cannon balls." Kyle joked.
Kasi gave us a glare so powerful that even I had to turned away from it. She stomped off into the kitchen.
I could tell that life in the Harper mansion will be one hell of a life. And that's just the way I liked it.
