Prologue

Prologue

A Chapter by Sammie Sanchez

One of the too many people
One of zero
Hating myself with the same amount of passion
As my own writings
And apparently my father and step-mother
Too

16 years of lies
They never loved me
Just used me
Against the only people who did

This child unknowingly clanged to a father
Who wanted to give up custody
So that he didn't have to pay child support
A step-mother laughed in my mother's face
When I was so young that I didn't remember her

They broke the heart of a mother
Taking her children
Beating some and yelling at the rest
My older siblings knew better and left
They tried to take me too
But I was too young to understand
And now I'm older

I really hope you are coping well. I have some problems with my parents/family when I was younger, and I can imagine the pain and suffering we had to go through. Be strong, Sammie.

Your poem is simple and to the point, but filled with meaningful events and emotions. Thank you for sharing this!

I hope this helps
