Doorbell

Doorbell

A Poem by Sam woodlock
"

Humorous poem

"
Doorbell
Sometimes I am reminded
Of a very true saying
All visitors give pleasure
Some by leaving, others staying
There"s nothing like those visitors
That nearly drive you round the bend
You smile and be polite
And just can"t wait for it to end
But I"ve thought of a solution
So this will occur no more
I always put my coat on
Before answering the door
If its someone that is welcome
I"ve just come in without a doubt
But if its anybody else
Its "what a shame, I"m  going out".

Sam, I have to laugh, I live in close proximity to most of my relations, some of them are neighbours and I often feel like that! A great poem, musical, witty and a pleasure to read. Thanks for sharing it!

LOL! That is a clever solution, Sam! Good rhyme and rhythm, and a fun write!
