Untested

It's not a cryptic piece

A man who has seen and done violence
Is always quick to silence
Those who wish to follow him through the fire

But all unburnt men can attest
The weight of instinct lies heavy on the chest

A man untested can never be at rest

Author's Note

I'm kind of obsessed with how men think, I'm interested in exploring how we could improve humanity and that begins with looking deep inside. Also the sentiment of this poem is what drives my martial arts training.

Great poem! I like it. A man who has seen and done violence, Is always quick to silence those who wish to follow him through the fire....To me it's sound like someone has just murdered someone and there were a few witnesses and he killed them to silenced them. Well, that's what came up to my mind when I read it.
