Honesty and painA Poem by Samuel Jack
Empathy fits well the human face framed
But masks are never the less moulded, Secured for there uses, then discarded much the same Removing my mask I felt so plain Others were coloured vivid, Great stories laid claim But subtle tells revealed their shame Honesty some equate with pain An opening for attack Hurling words meant to maim Put that old skin to the flame Start fresh and pink With non to blame © 2013 Samuel Jack
