Midnight BlueA Poem by SamuelThis is an excerpt from my second book “Reflections”
The two words that fit the drowning feeling in my ears.
It’s the look of loneliness. It’s the feeling of elapsing disappointment. It’s the taste of the medication they force me to take. It’s the sound of drops constantly hitting a cold floor. This midnight blue flows through me. So I flow with it in this vast, empty ocean. All this blue, With no other colors in sight. It feels like the waves of surrealism are never ending, The screams of those who are lost to the current wash over you. The feeling of dread is overwhelming. The taste of salt is overbearing. I look to the vast edges hoping for a life vest, But the wreckage of mistakes has no supplies to spare or salvage. The air escapes my lungs, and the midnight blue takes its place. I am one with my feelings, I am at peace with my fate. Drowning in thought is the worst feeling you can have. The sharp pain it brings, and the insatiable void of sadness. I am the midnight blue. In the sense of color, and mindscape. There is nothing else but the everlasting midnight blue. © 2021 SamuelAuthor's Note
