Memoirs of a pessimist

Memoirs of a pessimist

A Poem by Samuel Dave

How far is  near?

I was reading my thoughts when I saw her
she stands closely far, seemingly unreal
as if she was faking her imperfections
Her warmth chillingly mars her smile
I know she doesn't mean it
but what if she does?
Doubts creep into my head
as I witness another human
perplexedly simple, comfortably lost
in a world far from my own
yet in a world close to home
Do we make the same mistakes? I wonder
As I stumble upon a clue to make it true
maybe she belongs to my world of imagination
her realness more trouble so
I only know she stands closely far.

quite the enimgatic piece here. Are those we create in our imagination also creating in theirs - wow - russian dolls - infinite mirrors and 'windmills in my mind' have all started to appear - Im not into that at the moment!!
Very cool - Dali-esque writing Samuel Dave.
