Standing still

Standing still

A Poem by Samuel Dave
"

Gazing out and zooming in

"

everybody must have imagined
what it'd be like to have time standing still
the world at a stop, the images frozen
and the memory cherished

I, have this particular dream
it's this life, moving fast
but me, just standing still
a curious observer from the outside
to this inside dream
the moment passes, not quite
time stolen, not a thing
standing outside a dream
and standing still

the smiles I wanna capture
and the faces I want to paint
the moments I wanna keep
standing outside, just looking in

would it matter, what does matter
the walls cave in, the world changes
time creeping, can I be, standing still

the moments I wanna remember
I go outside and look in
I smile as I ponder, to know I've been here
just looking in, standing still.
