I Hate The Witches

I Hate The Witches

A Poem by penloverfool

"villanelle in pentameter", accept the challenge of schematized poetry...

"

I hate the witches for these lonely tears

Who snatch my princess and our golden day

They pierce my poor heart with pernicious spears

The wicked witches cause all forms of fears

My lovely princess, they take her away

I hate the witches for these lonely tears

At night my bleak life, madly thirsts for cheers

I blame the witches; my soul, they betray

They pierce my poor heart with pernicious spears

Bring back my lover, I wish she appears

To kiss my shrinking heart and make it gay

I hate the witches for these lonely tears

I long for pure joy, my sad heart declares

Without my love, this body will decay

They pierce my poor heart with pernicious spears

When will this sorrow end, how many years

My wasted, lonely life will go astray?

I hate the witches for these lonely tears

They pierce my poor heart with pernicious spears

While I do agree with Fabian that the middle witch looks like Bette, it takes nothing away from the skill you put into this Villanelle. Well done on a very complicated poetic form. I really enjoyed this.

That middle witch looks suspiciously like Bette Midler. lol this was dark but fun at the same time and i always enjoy that combination, great work.
