Forever ChnagedA Story by Sam.s.She never thought going to a stupid party in the woods, would change her life forever.I
look up from my plastic cup I survey the area around me and see huddles of
people talking dancing and drinking like theirs no tomorrow. I don’t focus on
anyone in particular or really the people I focus on the darkness beyond the trees.
I feel something staring at me I question myself and the drink I’ve been
drinking. It was only punch I grabbed some before the large amounts of alcohol
was added so I shouldn’t be feeling so weird. I turn my back and huddle closer
to my friend Chez and Tess, as a large gust of wind consumes me with an icy
chill. I begin to focus on my group or at least try I can still feel eyes on me
which make me shiver. The tempeture drops enough so that I can see my breath. I
decide it’s time for me to go it’s getting late and I don’t want to be around
when the boys get super wasted and horny. I hug my friends and start off on my
mile walk through the dark forest. I walk and my mind becomes clear and I start
to relax, crowds make me nervous and uncomfortable I don’t go out to much. But
the darkness of the forest sooths me and the sound of the wind as it whips
around trees makes me smile. I extend my hand and begin to caress the trees
trunks as I pass by. I close my eyes and I just walk. I feel as though I’m in a
trance and I can’t help but to smile. I hear a howl hoot and I open my eyes to
see bright eyes flying away in the distance. I keep walking oblivious to
everything around me I just become consumed I’m my own little world. Then all
of a sudden my hand moves over a hand or flesh which makes me retract my hand
and step back. But nothing was their. I smile and laugh a little laugh and tell
myself how stupid I am. I keep walking but my ears seem to focus on something
making it hard to concentrate on my walking. I put my hands in my pockets and
edge my shoulders inward as the wind becomes erratic and harsh sending chills
through my body. I hear someone call my name in a whispering tone I turn around
thinking it was just Tess or someone from the party. But when I looked no one
was their so I begin to walk again but an stopped once more for I hear my name
again and an immediate sensation comes over me a chill runs up my spine making
me shudder. I knew in that moment somehow things were going to get bad. Someone
grabs what seems to be my whole body and I fly backwards a rush of air fills my
lungs and my whole body collides with a tree and a hand is collapsed around my
neck. I open my eyes but my vision is blurry and I see red and blood cascades
down my forehead and into my right eye. I take a breath I relax my body I feel
sleep coming but I push it off and force my eyes open. I push off the tree with
force and catch the person off guard. And as I am pushing off I grab the person
and draw them to the tree and as I feel the hard dirt ground I hear the person
connect with the tree with a thud. I don’t hesitate and I begin to run and
leaping over logs and sticks. I focus on where I am going but I also keep an
ear on what’s behind me. I slow my breathing and heart rate so I can hear
better and conserve my energy for I know it’s not over yet. I jump over a large
tree and as I do I see movement in the corner of my eye and I see its heading
straight for me. I keep my pace and evaluate their speed and find where we will
intersect. Just as I get to the intersection a figure jumps out arms extended
ready to grab me. I hunch over and push them off of me and I realize someone is
behind me I see a large branch a head I grab the end and push off the tree
which breaks the portion I want off and gives me momentum to raise the branch
above me and have a sharp force as I come down on the person following me. I
have a clear shot of their head but connect with their shoulder for he seemed
to see my attack and moved so fast out of the way that I only hit him slightly.
I readjust for the second blow when I hear the other one behind me. I swirl
around breaking a piece of the branch of and with all the energy I had left I
trusteed the branch into his body. Blood drips down onto my hand and the man backs
away with his hands collapsed around the branches end. He looks at me and I see
nothing but darkness. He smirks at me as blood inches out of the corner of his
mouth. And then all of a sudden he seems to catch on fire and bursts into dust. Unable
to understand what I just saw I turn my attention to the other one, but he is
just standing there all casual like he’s waiting for me to pour the tea or
something. I lower the branch to my side but I don’t take my eyes of him not
even for a second. I stand up fully I realize I’m not wearing my jacket and my
shirt is ripped. I feel something warm dripping down my side. I touch the spot
with my free hand I bring it to my face and all I see is a red hand full of
blood. I don’t remember when it happened but return my hand to the wound and
press hard trying to stop the blood flow, so I can stay conscious. I look up to
the other man and for some reason I just drop the branch and start to walk
towards him. Or should I say where I was going in the first place. I walk right
passed him I don’t look back and I don’t care. I keep going till I find the
fence to my back yard I become dizzy knowing I wouldn’t make it to the house I
climb up into my old tree house and lay down and as I lay my head down the
darkness grabs me. But the last thing I see is his face looking down on me with
a smile on his face.
