Night RiverA Poem by Ua
Lost in the lovers light.
A traveler born from the wrong side of town. With a sincere vision of your truth he let's the words escape his lips. You have stumbled across these bones many nights. Fancied by the fires light. Sang songs, drank wine, reminiscing this ghost inside. A shadowed memory of his sins, flicker from within. Ceremony, let us sit, let us pray, as he unweaves himself from our hearts. Gently, he guides, nuzzling the way undone. Forgetting once more we bind. Tense shivvers as he walks through our dream. He whistles his long slow ballad. Tossed and turned, we decide to go back in. He whispers sweet beside the rivers edge as he softly pushes us in. We feel the warm current of the cool night engulf us as we slowly become. Drifting away towards our home he walks the rivers edge, watching for signs of life. Whistling his peaceful tune like a lullaby made for the night alone. Telling stories to the cold and damp by the light of the moon on how we will get there soon, until every child unfolds to dream, he tenderly lays them back into the stream. Whistling, he let's go into the night. © 2017 UaReviews
