The Kindest Killer

The Kindest Killer

A Poem by Sam A. Garner

Fragile rouge layered lips,

kissed their whimsical coats,

Deep fertile soils of brown,

met and held their towering legs,

Soft playful winds,

invited their maturing bodies to dance,

Their beauty unparalleled

and unchallenged,

Their play immature

and their laughter innocent,

But not one of their childish smiles,

with thorns of protection,

could deter the hand and gaze

of one in bliss,

Not one stood strong,

or cried enough,

to deter the ignorant menace,

of one in love.
