How?

Have you ever been in a relationship where the other person doesn't appreciate you? This was once my life.

How am I in a relationship with you and still feel alone?
I can't even get your attention, not even a ring on the phone.
How can you live so close to me, but feels so far away?
Promises to spend time with me, but I guess not today.
How are you fine with seeing me only one day a week?
It kills me inside going one day when it's your face I can't seek.
How is it that I am the one giving this relationship 150 percent?
Many days we could have been together, time not spent.
How can I suffer this pain from someone I love so much?
My heart is heavily bleeding as it stands on this broken crutch.
How can you sit there and say you love me with all your heart?
If you truly loved me you wouldn't want to be far or apart.
How can you not see my time is short and soon I'll depart.
Once I'm gone, I'm gone, you can't get back this broken heart.

Most people learn too late to know they had something good and it is gone now. I could feel the struggle to understand and the knowing time is coming to a end. A sad ending to a very good poem. Thank you.
