Waiting is Painful

Waiting is Painful

A Poem by Sammi

Though sunlight streams all around

I bathe in shadows

Being consumed and overwhelmed

By numbness like no other.

A blue coldness runing through my veins

Eyes motionless for one who

Is supposed to be alive

Alive? Yes, maybe

But certainly not living.

Gasping, struggling, flailing and falling

Down, down, down

Desperately trying to climb up

But slipping, sliding and tumbling backwards.

Eyes stinging,

Throat hoarse,

Mouth dry to the bone

Heart going through the motions

Putting on a show for

This pitiful farce before me.

Waiting to meet the one

Whom my heart will start to truly beat for.
