say you’ll choose me

say you’ll choose me

A Poem by Samith Pich
"

its about yearning

"

say you’ll choose me

by moonlight

                        soft

                                    notes

of quiet passion

after everyone from the party forgot

& left

            us

                        to suddenly be

                        alone.

say you’ll choose me

by weeping willows

writing their tears

in kingfisher waters

say you’ll choose me

inside the secret shells

of oysters

dreaming themselves

dark

pure thoughts

of lovers entwined

say you’ll choose me

through sad eloquent letters

by moonlight

near willows

inside shells

where all is silent

save for the sound

of only you

& me

breathing

love

I love how you bring in nature into this poem; sea shells, the moon, willows ; it shows us how much you need this love and how tender it will be. Your words are soft like the willows and dreamy like the moon.

A gorgeous love poem with lovely imagery, so much of it, I enjoyed every word and the glow and the format.
My fav lines are:
" inside the secret shells of oysters"
"writing their tears in kingfisher waters"
"Dark, pure thought of lovers entwined"
Best, Betty

You’re quite welcome, I love your imagery!
I like the soft gasps of phrasing that sort of trickle across the page. Nice use of formatting. "Inside the secret shells/of oysters.." is some gorgeous imagery. Each of your words are so delicate and continue that feeling of small but wondrous miracles.

I don't recall ever seeing so many passionate, romantic images in a single, relatively brief offering. I certainly hope the addressee said yes.

She did. And it was lovely while it lasted :)
In August, we celebrated 25 years married. Romance died long ago. We are comfortable. But these words remind me of younger days.
