Have you ever felt that pain?

Have you ever felt that pain?

A Poem by xSamilynnx

Do you ever get that feeling?

When you know someones walking away?

Not the ones you'll see again

Or talk to in the near future

I mean the ones,

That you're letting go.

The ones that love you,

and hold you,

and carry you through the shadow

The ones that care,

the ones that give you hugs

the ones that treat you fair

Have you ever felt that pain?

Its an ice cold hurt.

Chills you to the bone.

It slips in and out

Unwilling to give up.

Kile of like when your alone.

Only worse?...

Possibly...

Beacause you know its true

And you dont want to let them go,

Especiallythose that used to love you.

Have you ever felt that pain?

Hopefully not...

No one deserves that...

They deserve to dance in the rain

Surrounded by hope...love... friendship....

But wait...

Do they?

Do they really?

Yes...They do....

But do I?....

Yes...No...Maybe?

No....

I've hurt too many.

Ive made too many mistakes.

Ive pushed them away....

Or not?...

They probably didnt want me to stay.

Did they?

Maybe...Yes...No?

No....

And theyve felt that pain...

Maybe not for me,

But they have...

Havent they?

Have you ever felt that pain?

Its like... No...

You'd wish

that it was a knife

Straight through your already shattered heart.

But you know what?

Thats not the worst part...

So... really think...

Its not something you forget...

Have you ever felt that pain?

No...Maybe...Yes?

Don't feel so bad, it happens to everyone. It's just that...our close friends tend to often test us or "provoke" us. You know, if you're not close to someone, then you don't notice those tiny little flaws....and when you become close to them, then you start noticing, and the problem appears if either of you start making a big deal out of it. You ask yourself "Why does he always act that way when *whatever the situation is*?" So freaking out because of that might give you the impression that they don't want you around.
So, trust in yourself, forgive yourself for any mistakes you've done, but also do that for the people close to you.
I like the poem, but I think it lacks rhythm. The whole monologue thing is good, but that types of poem are in need of some rhyming, I'd say.

This poem certainly does conjure up emotion - which is what poems should do. My favorite part was "Do you ever get that feeling?
When you know someones walking away?
Not the ones you'll see again
Or talk to in the near future
I mean the ones,
That you're letting go"

It was something I could relate to personally. On a side note, have you thought about dividing this up into stanzas? I think it would add to the progression of thought and readability of the poem in general.

This puts the reader some where like a long street with just endless rows of broken buildings, middle of the night. Very visual, story being told, nothing forced but falls to place.

I'm a old man. I hold a lot of regret for allowing people to leave my life. In the old days we didn't have e-mail. Today is better. With internet can keep in touch with good friends. Even if a hello or a happy birthday. Good friends are important. Never know when you will need them or you may need them. The answer is yes. Thank you for the outstanding poem.
