Why i write dark poetry

Why i write dark poetry

A Story by xSamilynnx

I write dark poetry... the people that read my writing can plainly see that haha... Even though people might think i feel that way or that's how i always am its not.... Im usually pretty happy actually :P..... I write dark poetry because that's how i get rid of stress.... Like some people walk a dog or read... When i write what i feel inside, the emotions kinda transfers onto the paper and i feel better.... SSo yes i do feel the emiotions from my poems but only when im writing them... This is how i express myself and most of you might not realize that.... I will consider starting to write again but im not sure if i should or not... Im not even sure who reads the blogs i write o_O but if there are people who read these that want me to continue writing poetry please tell me... Maybe if people show me that they actually read my stuff and that its even worth me posting then ill write again.....

Omg I'm sorry but I think this is all wrong! The over all choice that you're trying to make right now is based on the wrong perspective. In my opinion, anyway.

What I mean is that you shouldn't feel so insecure about what you're doing. You're have an artistic leaning, right? and so you express yourself through writing. That is what art, and subsequently writing, is all about: self-expression. It's that simple. You said it yourself!

I definitely think you should continue writing because it's clearly part of who you are. You don't have to justify the darkness of your material to any of us; if people don't like, they don't have to read, but even if *every* one stopped reading it, that doesn't mean you should stop writing it - because you should write for yourself =)

I reacted really strongly to this cuz it would be a shame if you let other people's opinions determine whether or not you write. What makes the whole thing worth it is if it makes *you* feel good, so remember that ok? Also, there's some darkness in all of us, so your stuff is probably not coming off as weirdly as you think.

Try and be more confident =]

I still write some dark poems. I started writing them when I was a teenager. It's been years now and my writing has changed. But I still do write some sometimes. I see it's been a long time since you wrote this entry so I'm interested to know if your writing has changed as well.

First off, let me say I know what you mean about writing dark poetry and generally being happy since I was that way too when I was writing my own dark poems, although it has been awhile since I wrote something dark.
As for your writing I enjoy reading it and hope you keep posting it, but if you decide not to keep posting I hope you would never give up writing as a whole. Even if the people here don't see the talent you have don't let them spoil the fact that you do by stopping.

No matter where the ink does go, I hope it always shall flow. For the words that are put to pen, lead to a higher level of zen.

u should continue to write. it is always a good exercise. and u don't have to write online. u can always write using other formats and resources. i usually write in order to get my thoughts and feelings down and out in the open.

I also write my feeling on paper! It makes me feel good and relieved.

I myself write my emotions and distress on paper. Although mine aren't as strong as yours. Anyways, thanks for sharing.

Yes, writing is a release so much better than other things one could do to relieve stress.
Some people think what we write is who we are or the writing is about us.. not the case for most. Write ! Never worry about what others think...'to thine own self be true'.
