'Oh you must get her back for destroying your beautiful world! You must exact your revenge before going home!' it sang to me every night, a sweet little tune that drove me insane. I would wake with blood shot eyes and a coating of sweat over my body. I would stare at the ceiling before heading out, fully clothed, to tend to the woman's garden and clean the house and cook for her. She was so kind to me. She didn't even ask what was wrong with me. She seemed to know, she seemed to know everything.
One day, a warm sunny gorgeous day, she sat me down outside her little hut and took my hand. Forcing something into my palm, forcing my hand to clutch it with a strength I hadn't known she'd had she said 'Go, find what it is that upsets you. Do what you must my daughter. Go tend to that wanderers heart. Remember me and where I am. Remember always where you came from and where you continued your journey from. Find your peace and be happy.' She told me, if only she knew what I must do to be happy again!
I cried and hugged her, then walked away. Walked through the town, a little sullenly, and on past the farm. The farmer offered me his finest beast, I thankfully turned him down. He stopped me and told me that I would not get far without a horse. So I took a mellowed sweet mare. She was a tall beast and dark gray. She was the only one who had not reacted to me as though I were a predator, as though I were still a glorious wolf. I smiled to the farmer and took her reins. I mounted and though he seemed upset that I took her rather then the lovely black colt he'd raised for me he was pleased that I took an animal.
'Safe journey young one. Come home to us safely your mother will miss you dearly but do not worry, I will watch out for her while you are away.' He sang to me as I rode away. And so I started my long journey to the sea, as that was where I got when I got there. But that is jumping ahead isn't it?
- - - From the Pages of the Diary of Life

I was curled up, asleep and content, in my black bed with it's silk sheets and amethyst and red curtains that surrounded it when the sound reached my ears. It was a loud crash and a roar of rage from one of the boys. I was out of my bed in moments, clad only in the black boy shorts and bra I'd had on earlier with my saffron hair billowing behind me, I ran into the living room of the suite to see Samuel watching Carlisle and Damien tussle on the floor.

I roll my eyes and walk over, with my arms crossed, to lean against Samuel as he wrapped an arm around me. Rheese was standing in his own rooms' doorway watching the battle. "What is this about?" I hear myself asking, voice drowned with sleepiness.

"Damien made a pass on Carlisle. Carlisle is only fighting him because he refuses to admit himself. Isn't it amusing?"

"Oh yes, highly amusing." I grumble and roll my eyes before stepping, begrudgingly, from his warm embrace to grab an ear from Damien and an ear from Carlisle and jerk them apart. They yelped loudly as one and grabbed at my wrists whimpering. "Never under estimate the power of the ear." I grin and twist their heads to see their faces. "This is the last I better hear of you two fighting, I will easily send you back to the clan. Father will be most pleased to accept you both back. Understood?" They whimper and paw at my hands, nodding.

"Good, get to your beds and stop fussing." I let them go. Carlisle saunters off sulking with his head low and shoulders high. Damien wrapped an arm around my calf rubbing his jaw against my leg whimpering apologetically. I place my hands on my hips and stare at his sad pitiful eyes as he looked up at me. I reach down and pet his hair gently, because he enjoyed such comforting touches.

"You can stay with me tonight, Damien. You rat." I tease him, cause he was much younger then I was. He was also the runt of his litter, his mom was literally a wolf. Samuel bristled and snarled at that and I looked up at him. "Samuel, I'm not princess anymore but to these two I am still their guardian as well as their charge. He's my baby brother anyway... not literally, but I've been a big sister to him for ever. He was the only one in my pack who didn't hate me right away. He gave me a chance."

Samuel glares at me, his eyes darkened as he walked over. I stood my ground proudly jerking my chin into the air. Unfortunately, it's hard to be tough when you barely come to someone's shoulder. He stood their, letting the tension drown us before wrapping his arms around me carefully. "I'm staying with you two, as well." He growls into my ear. I shrug in answer, okay I had no problem with that. He lets me go and turns to my room. Damien was already dashing into the room and jumping onto the bed ahead of us.

"He really is a rat, isn't he?" Samuel asks quietly walking beside me.

"You have no idea." I tell him calmly.

By the time I woke I didn't want to get out of the bed. I had Damien in my arms, all curled up as he likes to get, with Samuel holding onto me pressed as tight to my body as he could get. Carlisle was the one who woke me up. He crawled onto the bed and touched my brow to speak with me. My eyes cracked open just slightly and I stared at him a minute before speaking to him silently.

What is it, Carlisle?  I guess I didn't sound to... inviting. But he had just woken me up.
Someone's at the door, they're asking for you and Samuel. I don't like the smell of them... they smell rotten, literally, and they don't look much better. The dog at their side looks horrible too. He reaches over and removes Damien from my grasp gently lifting Samuel's arm off my body. The movement woke him and he stared at us.

What does she look like? Is it a she?

Oh yes, it is definitely a she, Azraella and she looks thin, and tall, she has long mousy brown hair. The animal is almost as tall as she is. It stands at her hip but when it sits it is up to her shoulder.

Thank you. I crawl from my bed and drag Samuel with me. Carlisle silently took my place holding onto the pup Damien. Lord he was a handful. I drag a black dress on, it hugged my body and made everything look bigger, except my legs and waist. The silk was held in place by amethyst stained leather. Samuel tugs my hair back into a gentle curtain of silk with a brush as we walked. He tossed it onto the couch as I opened the door to admit out guest.

"Good morning Haunt." I smile cheerfully as the tall woman stepped into the room. Her skeletal hound tucked close to her side wags his tail as I speak to him. She tosses her hood back and smiles at me as the dog trots over to the couch and hops up spreading his massive body across it.

"Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead... Louisa May Alcott." The woman grins as she greets up. She always has a new quote to tell us from someone. "Hello again Azraella. How are you today?" She had a light cheerful voice that did not match her personality at all.

"I'm doing good, other then it being three in the morning and me waking up, I'm fine. Good to see you are doing good too. It's wonderful to see you again Sin." I sit down across from her and her dog. "Samuel, this is the witch Sin, a friend of mine." He stares at her for a long moment before finally sitting down on the floor leaning against my legs.

"She smells like death." He says calmly his unblinking gaze never leaving her.

"I know, it's because of the magic she uses. Sin what brings you here?" I knew better then to ask how she had found me. She had long ago placed a spell upon me to find me wherever and whenever she wanted to. Hiding from Sin was nigh impossible with this spell on.

"Your father disowned you." She says calmly. Her brows didn't twitch, her aura didn't ripple, but mine did. "I came to protect you. You remember the promise I made you long ago."

"Yes I remember." I say calmly, slightly uncomfortable with the fact that her gaze never left Samuel at my feet. "But what has that got to do with now?" In other words, 'why did you come before twenty four hours were up?'

"It has to do with my brother and his determination, Azraella. You need to change your name. I need to help you remap yourself." She says calmly.

"No, no Sin. We already had this argument long ago."

"And look how close you've come to certain doom."

"What is she talking about?" Samuel interrupts us. The tension that had built in the room burned through the air and pinned Samuel to the ground flat on his back as she stared at him.

"Let. Him. Go." I growl, though I couldn't move either. She turns her gaze to me and he rolls onto his stomach to push to his feet. That'll just be a more painful fall. "Sin, what is your problem?" I demand. She doesn't answer, because I already knew. She wanted to get rid of him. Her brother. She wanted to destroy him just to say that she could and survive.

"People must help one another, it is natures law.... Jean de la Fontaine." She says calmly walking towards me. I don't back away from her, but hold my head up high glaring at her.
"I'm not going to help you kill your brother." I tell her calmly.

"He's already dead, my friend. He died the night you tried to save him. He was bitten a year before that. He was a third world were wolf, now he's a second rate vampire. He's going insane, Azraella and you're the only one who can get close enough to him." She tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"I'm not going to be your bait, Sin. I'm not going to help you commit murder of any kind. I'm not going anywhere near him. He's a monster."

"Which is why I'm asking you to help me. Azraella, he's my twin. It hurts to have to do this, but it hurts more to feel the pain he goes through. It hurts feel that chaos and reach over there to contact him and get slapped in the face by a black void of insanity rather then the cool warmth of my brothers spirit. There's nothing left inside that shell of a man but insane hunger and death. He's just an animated carcass." That stung, I flinched from her voice. She'd gone cold and empty and was staring with black eyes at the wall. God, she was right, he needed help and the only help he could get was death. I sigh heavily and sit down heavily as Haunt walked over and put his head against my knee, now in my lap.

I absently rub the hounds ears and speak. "Alright, I'll do it. But Sin, if he even tries to bite me or you so much as think of abandoning me in there..." I shudder.

"Thank you, Azraella, thank you so much."

"So what do we do now?"
