StillbornA Poem by Meera KrishnaThe pain on a mother on the birth of her stillborn baby
My angel glowed in my imagination brightly
Her brown eyes sparkled and her mouth quivered slightly She looked like the man I loved and like me As I felt her through my own skin growing inside me She came to the human world quickly and went To the same heaven from which she was sent The impatience of nine months ended in grief My soul died with her in a moment so brief I was a mother who buried her stillborn daughter The pain so intense it felt like slaughter In my heart, she will always be an image A beautiful reality of my life turned into a painful mirage
