* For those, like me, who didn't know about Sisyphus.
Sisyphus was punished for chronic deceitfulness by being compelled to roll an immense boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down, and to repeat this action forever.

I don't want to comment something stupid to ruin the poem but i couldn't help myself from doing it. Just stopped by to say, it's beautiful...sadly beautiful. Not sadistic, but in way like the wind blows over the hills through the trees during the dust.
I don't see the Sisyphus connection: "In Greek mythology Sisyphus was a king {dude} of Ephyra punished for chronic deceitfulness {liar} by being compelled to roll an immense boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down, and to repeat this action forever."
I'm not familiar with the story but the piece is well written. With just couple of stanza you have summarized a novel. If a curse is our fate as to this muse who have to roll a boulder forever to appease a god ( hope I'm right ) but see and do it for the purpose of gaining something or someone is not a curse but a blessing. I see perspective and purpose to our present predicament. Its like if I have committed a crime worthy of eternal banishment to a remote inhabited place but then I have someone memories and love locked in time and space inside our mind and heart. The inhospitable place can become a solitude or paradise... Your piece is very deep and brilliantly written...

Your review made me love my poetry even more and find another contour in it. thank you
If i remembered it accurately, the boulder in Sisyphus represents the constant struggle, labor-a punishment to him. your piece, however, depicted the "boulder" in a positive light and i like it.
