Stay Away

Stay Away

A Poem by Samantha Young
"

No judging. I'm not a poet.

"

I’m angry.

I’m depressed.

I’m torn up inside.

I trusted you.

For two long years,

I trusted you.

You lied.

You cheated.

You used and abused.

Yet, I trusted you.

Even when confronted,

You smiled and shrugged.

You apologized,

Showing some ounce on humanity.

Yet, you begged me stay.

I agreed, my mistake.

You lied.

You cheated.

You used and abused, again.

You cut my chest open,

Ripped out my heart,

Threw it in a blender,

And poured lemon juice,

On my open wound.

Then . . . you apologized.

I don’t want an apology,

I want my heart back.

I want the two years back.

I want my wasted tears back.

Get away . . . stay away.
