Killing Small Town Sunflowers 1.16.

Killing Small Town Sunflowers 1.16.

A Poem by SamanthaX

1.16.

This old town
reminds me
of a forgotten
dream
The familiar
lies
remain in
the secrets it
keeps

Can anyone else
see these
invisible
mysteries
I feel
comfortable
in heartache
of your
memories

I wish you
could have
my eyes
So you could
escape to my
reality
I wish you
could have
my ears
So you could
hear the
whisper of
sweet sounds
in my hair

You do have
the gift of
touch
That’s why
you lift
me up

To this day
the best
decision
I ever made
was running
away
To burn down
this old town
and walking
away

Learning all
my best lessons
from the words
of the Bible
That’s why I
never look back
after I set a
fire
