True love: The hurt of death.A Poem by Samantha EvansWhy do people have to loose things to find out what they really mean? When you are in love, And you get hurt, It's like a cut... That will heal but never leave. You can close your eyes from the things you don't want to see. But can never close your heart from the things you don't want to feel. There's this place, Where you remember, Where the finger prints still rest, Where the kissed linger, Where the voice softly whispers, That's the place where it will always be a part of me. A tear drop is insignificant in a pool of water, but on someone's face it chatters away the skin. I hate you! I love you! I want to throw you off a cliff. So I can race down to catch you. I've seen fire. But I've also seen rain. And baby, I saw days where I thought it would be sunny forever. I'd seen the time where I had no friends, But I always thought I'd see you again. Now I realize that I could never cry hard enough for you to hear me. Even though I can call out your name in the rain. My arms beging for your embrace. I know you can never come back, that you will waste away. So now, I leave you without a sound, Except for my heart, that will shatter as it hits the ground. A broken heart, Is like a broken mirror, It is better to leave it broken then to try and fix it with bare hands. I just want you to hug me one last time, And tell me it's alright. Moving on requires "letting go". I don't think I'm there yet . . . Baby why'd you leave me Watching you leave me Standing in a vast crowd. Shattered dreams . . . I have to move on. © 2008 Samantha Evans |
