Mistake

Mistake

A Poem by Samantha

One night of untamed emotions

Leads to a lifetime of change

Endless ridicules and ceaseless stares

Innocence lost, childhood forgotten

Wondering about the mess you’ve been caught in

A moments weakness can never be undone

This is a battle that can’t be won

Some friendships prove false, and rumors run rampant

Eventually thoughts become fatalistic

Your life has now become a statistic

This poem actually isn't based on personal experience, I wrote it to try to show my opinion of what it feels like to make a mistake in a particular situation that my friend went through. So, I hope I was able to put real emotion into it even though I haven't lived it. Enjoy :)

Really feeling the intensity of this. The first time should be wonderful but more than often it's a just a statistic. Just my thougts on how the poem moved me. Strong write anyway you interpret it.

the rhyme scheme is very well accomplished. It takes talent to portray your feelings and put them in rhyme at the same time.

Good snapshot - I see the emotion this is done well as "How I feel" poem. I do suggest that you rebuild the end as that last line is trite and jaded. I would toss the word statistic back into the crowd and dance with another.
