Left Behind

Left Behind

A Poem by Samantha Slonina
"

I may have been upset when I wrote this but these are my feelings I've have for quite some time. I think I've been mildly depressed lately.

"

I am left behind, left to the dogs,

Left to the thorns of life,

I am so sad.

Everything I thought I'd be, never was,

What I am hurts,

I am desperately clinging to myself.

The lovely sounds of life no longer cheer my broken heart,

Broken by man, for man,

I am nothing more than that I hate.

Tugging the fabrics of time, they hurt the most,

Dead is the dog,

I am destroyed, peeling paint, my existence.

Images cannot light the way, paths of broken lamps,

Lead me, away,

I am the dog, I have been left behind.
