Glory

Glory

A Poem by Eternal Stormcloud

I saw a woman muttering wildly to herself
To offer her some company, I presented myself
Not bothering to look at me, she started her story
A tale of pain and misery but one ending in glory
'Once there was a girl living alone in the meadows
Afraid of being discovered, she hid in the shadows
Alone she faced the cruel tornados and lightening
When suddenly faced with a situation so frightening
Terror and pain were closing in on her from all sides
A raging battle stormed in front of her in crazy tides
Shaking violently, she tried bravely to save her home
But it was too late and even her savior didn't come
Too heartbroken to dwell on her own loss of treasure
She saw with no hope, her garden held no pleasure
All her life's work was ruined brutally in a single blow
And the tears she had secured so much now started to flow
It wasn't until dawn when she came across fully to the damaged
Could have been worse, a little flicker of hope she managed
She planted a garden of hope with seeds of love and devotion
Managed by the rain of faith that prevented any commotion
All was well and her life was amazingly happy
Yet again she was forced to look at another tragedy
People with blackened souls intruded and raided her garden
Contaminated with lust and greed, a thirst she couldn't reckon
They destroyed the garden with voracity, demanding more and more
Not to let them benefit from her, she hid in the forest's core
They were clever, but, and discovered she was hiding there
Running away from them, she ordered her mind to prepare
Chasing her into a corner, they led her to a dead end expertly
The height was frightening and the current even more deathly
For a split second, she imagined them taking away her soul
Only to save it she was willing to beg and even crawl
She saw then in their eyes that she was expecting too high
They'd ruin her selflessness, she thought with a sigh
Without giving a hint she jumped into the current gracefully
Gaping, they looked down at her body floating in air, beautifully
As she hit the water, she felt her soul walk away from her
Watching it leave untouched, made her cry even harder
It was bright and dressed in white, along with it she died in quiet
The storm, however, took her revenge, killing them all in worse fright
The river engulfed her body, with it took away her garden
They remain hidden still, unidentified in the depths of ocean!'
She turned to me then and smiled gently at my look of blank shock
Taking my hand she pointed to the sky toward the bird's flock
Looking back at the woman, I was stunned momentarily
As there sat a woman dressed in white beside me peacefully
In a whiff she vanished before my eyes like particles smoke carries
Leaving behind an ocean of emotions and a waterfall of memories
All my life I had searched for a purpose to prevent people hurting my soul
Here this stunning woman has come to rescue me from a fall
If you think you know it well, stop and think about it again
For everything wealthy and worthy is not necessary for you to gain
I had it learned and understood perfectly the tale I was told
Only you can save your soul from poison, letting the glory hold!
