The Devil in Me

From the Eyes of the devil

They question me where I reside

Foolish people asking for their demise

I see you come with the same intention

An air of indifference but I sense in you

So I make an exception that isn’t natural to me

Come closer; let me impart the secret this time

I stand immortal, eternally young

Basking in the glory of all that’s evil

Think not that it is another creature

It is but you who crave the wrongs

I speak nothing but truth as of this moment

I see you scoff at my imparted wisdom

So arrogant human I’ll be clearer

We’ll see who comes out Eviler

A beast within you twists and turns

You believe it’s anyone but your precious self

Dig a little deeper into the depths of your heart

You’ll find me sitting in the darkest hour

I’m nothing but the projection you create

Every time you enter your mind’s hellish gate

Nurturing me into gigantic beast

I find it offensive to be blamed for your deeds

Look at me; don’t feel so blue and torn

I have a balm for your tortured soul

It’s not the saints who thwart me to leave them

No indeed human I leave only by will

It is the humans who continue fighting

That I finally leave after their lifetime of struggling
