Artwork for the Life

Artwork for the Life

A Poem by Samantha Greene

Painted Promises

Laid out in the storm

Hidden behind the locked exit

Perceived as a barricaded entrance

That we’ve thrown away the key to.

Will you wait out this storm?

Antique ill-favored art

Washing away

Rain reminiscing of our first work together.

Still hanging along the wall

Always kept inside safe,

Beautifully alive

Wonderfully creative

Somewhat tragic

This new life we’ve built for ourselves.

Every detrimental memory dwindling under it’s dissolution.

Haven’t seen a fatality like this since the Japanese created fire on water.

Burning Rain.

Colors in our life.

With not a shadow on the wall.

Brightly painted designs.

For fill the promises given for a new.

A lovely poem. I like those lines the most.
