Protect Me

Protect Me

A Poem by Samantha Greene

Can’t compare your heart to that of a stone.

Your smile never escaping your lips.

Compassion never left me all alone.

Ocean waves carrying along your ship.

Eyes azure can’t escape your gaze my dear.

Holding your soul in my hands I hold fast.

I am here to protect you with no fear.

For us to grow and not live in the past.

Tangled in your thick locks shining so bright.

Our hands entwined until the break of dawn.

Shining within your eyes the morning light.

A wave along the shore soon is withdrawn.

To think someone would make this all a pun.

We wash away the pain within the sun.
