Achingly in Love and falling apart with Opiates

Achingly in Love and falling apart with Opiates

A Poem by Sam Davidson

It's far too easy being dead

But hard to reconnect

When floating in a bodiless haze

Where minutes take their time for days

One assumes life to still reflect

The solid things you like to neglect

Like those that took your sanity

That you found too hard to love

And in tones of soft profanity

Gave you your humanity

While turning you to wisps of air

In the ether, crying there

When you've no hand to touch her face

And the lips that brush her hair

Are coming from a different place

To mock the pretensions of your race

It hurts your soul to dissipate

Hate to love and love to hate

This is beautiful, I absolutely loved it. It's sad, yet brilliant. Great, no fantastic, write. :)
