Your leaving soonA Poem by Sam87A poem aimed at my family, who were moving to Canada when I were 17
Your leaving me,
for a land I have not been, to live nearer people I have never seen. Leaving me to fend for myself, At a time I need you most, Taking away my family, and leaving me with ghosts. I'm going through a hard time, But i'm hiding this from you, I don't want to let you see what you are putting me through. I never thought you'd leave me, thought you'd be here till the end, always thought I'd find in you a love I could depend. We'll speak maybe just twice a week, at the end say see you soon, but that's a lie cause i don't know, if I'll see you before next June. I feel like you don't want me, that I have let you down, I hope that you'll forgive me and no longer bear that frown. One day you'll be happy, When you are away from me, One day you will stop hating the daughter you cannot see. © 2016 Sam87 |
