simple dependency

digital is enhanced by icons
little pics taking less space
shorter and simpler titles
each with a tiny face

 

comic strip characters
taking up much less room
smileys telling how you feel
the grin means less gloom

 

digital is the new language
easier than words to use
shorthand is more secure
complicating the reviews

 

popularity suits the masses
who like to use shorthand
it keeps their lives more simple
though often much less grand

 

what we write tells how we live
reflecting a life of many years
those who run in neutral
need far fewer gears

 

what this means for the future
is work will be more play
digital programs will control
what anyone wants to say

 

lives will be more dependent
on those who are in control
responsibility less important
as machines take their toll

 

knowing how to program digital
is an occupation for the few
so get the training you will need
and you may get rich too
