Eating

Eating

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

finding the solution

"

The food we have to eat

can bring the best of pleasures

If we eat the right amount

it is one of life's greatest treasures

We learn to like what we do

it determines our taste

But liking anything too much

makes it all go to waste

Wise people use caution

with moderation in what they do

If not your days are limited

no choice could be more true

If the full plate we eat

when half a plate is a fill

Learning to eat less

is even better still

Life will be measured

by how much we eat

Eating the wrong amount

will not be a treat

Exercise uses the calories

when done in the right amount

Keeping tract of the calories

is another way to keep count

Consuming too much food

makes exercising a pain

Leading to a worse problem

it causes you to gain

Eating the right amount

may require a resolution

But when you do it carefully

it is your best solution

Your words are true. Eating the wrong foods can lead to sickness and a early death. The body can only do so much. I agree with proper diet and exercise. Will keep the mind and body strong for many years. Thank you for the excellent poem.
