Escape

Escape

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

won't happen

"
Hiding from the truth
from facts not wanting to hear
Harshness of later finality
gives many a reason to fear

Fear is a human response
to realities painfully true
The fear that others have felt
is hopefully not affecting you
Escaping from a crisis
 is sometimes a possible fact
But the truth will still exist
no matter how we act

Accepting truth with grace
may not be easy to discuss
But we must face the crisis
and do it with little fuss
Ignoring facts in the case
and denying what we did
When truth will later be told
nothing then will be hid

When we have been accused
of something we did not do
Let them know the facts
their denial will not be true
Denial is only weakness
about facts we don't want to hear
Being willing to face the truth
is the best way to deal with fear

Every excuse that we offer
will only hurt us in the end
Facing the truth is much better
it is the only message  to send

We must face the truth and learn from it. Then move on. Great wisdom in your poem. I tell the kids. You will make a million mistakes. A wise person don't repeat the bad one's over and over. A strong ending to a outstanding poem.
