Gifts of Love

Gifts of Love

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

have more meaning

"
Were we born to love
or did we learn the feeling
The way some people act
causes our world to keep reeling

Those who learned to love
know love is good
If love is taken for granted
it is not understood

What we learn we can practice
because learning is an act
Acts are a reality and
reality is a fact

Practicing what we believe is love
can give anyone some hope
The hope can be shared with others
as we all try to cope

Taking anything for granted
says it was someone else's gift
Never being our own effort
needing to be given the lift

What we practice is who we are
few will believe otherwise
If they cannot see this truth
they are not very wise

Take these few suggestions
make your love more understood
Others will return the favor
because they know they should

No one should be satisfied
with the love that they get
Acts of love given to others
will avoid becoming a debt

Anger lead to no-where. Sometime hard to stop. Like what your poem stated. We need to think before we act or speak. A fool can trip over his actions or words. Thank you for the excellent poem.
