Lucky Lefties

Lucky Lefties

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

an advantage

"
Are you a lucky Lefty
living in a world set up wrong
Arranged for Right-handers
and not sure that you belong

From the beginning
it was hard to adjust
You were told often
adjust was a must

This you did bravely
not sure it was right
Not a smooth performance
done with all of your might

The effort gave an advantage
making practice what you did
Practice causes intelligence
a benefit for a smarter kid

If the result was ambidextrous
we know what that would do
You could play from right or left
with every shot being true

Most of us stand in wonder
how it was you got that way
Many others in your family
might be able to say

The brains we have are different
depending more upon their use
We see that in excellence
success gives no excuse

Whatever you have be happy
it will make you seem more smart
Just do your best always
and do it with all your heart
