Reflections

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

of the past

"
Where ignorance is home
the mirror will take you there
You will recognize the truth
when you don't take care

Born with ignorance
better called unknowing
Having great potential
and rapidly growing

Given parental help
and its a benefit to know
The limits will be forever
to take you in tow

This is not the end
many others were the same
They had similar limitations
no one is to blame

You were more fortunate
many cells didn't live
Will you honor fate
and find a way to give

The question will stare at you
all your live long days
Your human obligation
says everyone pays

The sooner you begin
the easier it will be
Habits are in control
you will eventually see

Make your environment
a familiar place to learn
It will add to your success
and the ability to earn

When aging is true
opportunity is over for you

Ignorance can lead us into trouble waters. My Grandfather taught me. Don't know it. Don't talk about it till you learn about it and have knowledge. I do believe age allow us to be smarter. But some folks live in ignorance and enjoyed it. Thank you for a outstanding poem.
