Better Choices

and a happier life

there are many who believe
that choice gives more control
of what you will receive
to help you reach your goal

 

if you know where you are going
and have chosen what to do
it is not just in your knowing
that will give the best to you

 

chance and other considerations
that now you do not know
could become the ugly goblins
that will rain upon your show

 

any path less traveled by
there is another for your trip
whichever one you choose
the other may be equally hip

 

if they are much the same
you get what fate can give
there will be no one to blame
it is just the way we live

 

when anyone talks about choice
many things will be left unsaid
listen carefully to what they say
to avoid ever being misled

 

as you travel along through life
choose carefully as I know you would
enjoy the songs of the birds
thoughtful choices will always be good

Your words are true. I was lucky when I was young. For 12 years I was single and traveled the USA and Europe on my free time in the Military. I like the back roads and places I did not see before. We need to think things out and plan the good trips. A organized life can be a boring one. Thank you for your amazing poetry and wisdom.
