Control

where it can lead

The past controls the future
when the past is very strong
Almost everyone knew this
and they knew it all along

 

Change is weaker than repeating
 we don't know what it will do
It may be just what we need
but also very hazardous too

 

If calm debate isn't possible
change will not come soon
Both sides will get angrier
each singing a different tune

 

The way to solve the dilemma
requires intelligent compromise
Or the battle will get worse
even when someone dies

 

Anarchy makes everyone a loser
a middle ground is what we need
When greedy leaders do battle
we all lose more indeed

 

Solutions are never easy
even more so with problems great
Stupidity will be the winner
filling us all with hate

 

In the past there was a solution
each side went separate ways
Now there is no room left
we'll be fighting to the end of our days

 

Our copy of other life forms
will continue until we all are gone
The sad end of needing control
with none ever seeing the dawn

Your words are true. Too bad the leaders of this world don't understand. Can bring guns and threats to a peace talk. Need calm men and woman with goal of peace and fixing problems. So many strong statements in the poem.
