Protest

Protest

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

everyone's problem

"
Plagued by uncertainties
life with less hope
Unemployment everywhere
how will we cope

Scripture is mostly talk
problems don't get solved
Prayer is what we use
trying to get God involved

There may be many jobs
but with work we cannot do
It will take years of training
with a lot of hunger too

Hunger isn't an opinion
it is food we need to eat
Necessities for our health
and not about a treat

Poems are full of opinions
and hopes that are in our mind
Reality is much harsher
and so often much less kind

Reduced to writing poems
that speak of what we need
While the rich grub for money
to satisfy their greed

Why should the rich share
they think they earned every dime
Protesters have been robbed
and the law says its no crime

The protest will become anarchy
making things much worse
The society will suffer
because people are perverse
