Our Time

past, present and future

The present we now live
is the future of yesterday
Any planning we did then
will be who we are today

 

No one escapes the future
it becomes our history
Forever recorded in time
as the past is sure to be

 

If today we practice caring
its a start of something good
If we wait until tomorrow
it delays doing what we should

 

Our affect upon the future
will be very limited in scope
It will however be seen
as the essence of our hope

 

Hope is a human trait
that humans are lucky to know
When our hope leads to action
enjoyment is sure to grow

 

Teaching hope by example
is how parents pass it on
Our children will need to have it
after we are gone

 

If the gifts we give to them
help them value what they do
Their days without hope
will certainly be very few

 

They will then be able
to see that hope enables love
The heavenly human quality
given by our God above
