Life's Value

Life's Value

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

learned some day

"

The more we try to learn

the sooner we will know

The real value of life

and what makes it all so

It could take twelve years

to learn who we really are

Then about that time

we learn the meaning of par

Par is the life most get

for reasons not known

The average age we will live

as statistics have shown

Religion then takes hold

telling us there is no end

A message we want to hear

that praying can send

If we believe in God

He will always be there

Doing His level best

to manage our care

When He can't manage it

there is always an excuse

We must be ready to forgive Him

for using such a ruse

And so we live our days

thinking they will never end

Just as the universe ordered

and will some day send

But when it is over

on some fateful day

Never to happen again

we learn this is God's way
